So many other creators have created and shared their everyday makeup routine, I thought I’d join in too! I feel like I’ve had this same tried and true routine for years and want to share it with you all, along with all of my favorite products! This routine may seem like it’s full of steps, but I assure you it takes me less than 15 minutes everyday to complete all of these steps! Without further ado, let’s get into the routine.

Step 1: Moisturizer
I never knew I had such dry skin until I went to an esthetician and she was able to tell me that microscopically, my skin was so dry! Of course the obvious solution for this is I need to drink more water!
Using a moisturizer really helps too! I consider this an essential step after washing my face with a gentle cleanser and before applying any sort of makeup. I am VERY fair skinned so I prefer to use a moisturizer that contains SPF. My favorite product for this step of my routine is the CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion, which contains an SPF of 30.
Step 2: Primer
Creating a good base for your makeup is essential to ensure your makeup stays all day. It’s also helpful to even out your complexion and creates a smooth base for the next steps of your routine.
You’ll notice throughout this post that I really rave over e.l.f products. Not only are they affordable and easily accessible as they’re sold in many places. That being said, I’d like to recommend some e.l.f. primer products to you! First, the Poreless Putty Primer is really awesome for times when you’re wanting a thicker primer. I especially like using the acne fighting one! They also have a really great Power Grip Primer I’d recommend for anyone’s makeup bag!
Step 3: Face
Being someone with acne prone skin, it’s important to me to choose products that won’t cause me to break out. I consider these products to be light enough to keep my skin as clear as possible, but also with enough coverage to conceal my imperfections.
Foundation
The first thing I apply on top of my primer is a foundation or BB cream. I tend to lean more toward BB cream in the warmer months and foundation in the cooler months. Both of the products I’ll recommend to you are from Maybelline. I tend to try other brands but have come back to this brand for foundation time and time again! I simply haven’t found anything better.
Concealer
This concealer I’ve purchased and repurchased for years now! It’s one of the only products I use that is a little more on the pricy side. However, the little tube lasts a VERY long time. To me it’s worth the money because it’s a super full-coverage concealer, hiding all my imperfections and dark under-eyes. This amazing concealer is the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. This product can be purchased from Ulta, but I’ve also provided the Amazon link in case you don’t have an Ulta close to you.
Contour
I used to use a powder for a quick contour with brushes. However, now I feel like liquid contours are all the rage, and I’m here for it! They’re easy to throw on and blend out all at the same time. I also feel like I have more control over the product this way.
My absolute favorite as of late is the e.l.f. cosmetics Halo Glow contour, blush, and highlight! They come in several colors suitable for a variety of skin tones and are the perfect size if you need to travel with them!
To blend the contour out, I prefer to use a Real Techniques Beauty Blender! This makeup sponge is the best quality out of any I’ve tried and is definitely worth the price. Plus, they can be found pretty much anywhere, from drugstores to online!
Powder
I like to use a loose powder to set my makeup, and again, this is something I’ve done for years! A really popular option for this is the Airspun Loose Powder. I’ve used this brand several times before, however currently I’m using the Morphe Bake & Set Soft Focus Setting Powder.
If you’re just starting out or on a budget, I’d recommend the Airspun powder as you can get two of them for the price of one of the Morphe setting powders.
Step 4: Eyes
Now it’s not everyday I use eyeshadow, but I’d say more days than not I throw some simple eyeshadow on. I’ve stopped using eyeliner because I like more of a natural look, and I like the look of just a simple eyeshadow and some dramatic lashes. That being said, lets talk about some of my favorite eye products!
Eyeshadow
I think every girl into makeup has several eyeshadow palettes in her collection. When shopping for eyeshadow palettes I tend to look for some that have several colors I could use with my everyday makeup. Some of my favorite eyeshadows are from the brand Colorpop! They’re super pigmented and they come in both neutral and colorful palettes.
Some other really great options that can be found online are: e.l.f. The New Classics eyeshadow palette and the NYX Warm Neutrals Palette.
Mascara
As far as mascara goes, I’ve tried so many different kinds since I’ve started wearing makeup! I’ve narrowed it down to my top three. I think all three of these options are great quality and are worth the purchase if you’re looking for dramatic lashes! When applying mascara, I apply around two layers of the product before I’m all finished with my eye makeup!
- Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara
- Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
- L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara
Step 5: Eyebrows
This has very quickly become a step that I simply cannot skip before leaving the house! As an essential part of my makeup routine, It’s important that I have reliable products on hand. I prefer to use an eyebrow pencil versus a gel or pomade because I feel like I can get more precise in where I want to fill.
The one I have on hand currently is the NYX Eyebrow Pencil. This is a twist-up so there is no sharpening required!
Step 6: Lips
When talking lips, I think it’s first important to talk about moisturizing first! Keeping your lips moisturized is important to ensure any other product you may use on them goes on smooth and stays that way! The two products I’d recommend for this are first the Burt’s Bees Lip Balm. This is the type I use in the morning and throughout the day. Plus, they come in so many yummy flavors!
At night, I prefer to add a little Vaseline Rosy Lips before going to bed. When I wake up my lips are always feeling smooth and moisturized.
Lip Stain
When I want to add a little color to my lips, I prefer to use a lip stain! They tend to last a lot longer than regular lipstick and don’t rub off on my drinking cups or leave my lips feeling sticky. Right now I really prefer the Stila Calligraphy Lip Stains. (The color maya is my favorite!)
Lip Oil
On the average day when I don’t need to add color to my lips I prefer to use a lip oil. They keep my lips moisturized and looking glossy throughout the day. Lately I’ve been using a juice infused lip oil from Ulta, but I’ve also heard the e.l.f. tinted lip oils are really great too.
Step 7: Setting Spray
I always spray my face with a setting spray when my makeup is all done to help it stay all day. I prefer to use one that gives a dewy look over a matte finish. The Urban Decay All Nighter spray is a really good option but it can be a little on the pricy side. One that I feel is equally as good will be no surprise to you. It’s e.l.f. of course! The e.l.f. Mist & Set Hydrating Setting Spray leaves my makeup set and on all day long.
I truly hope you enjoyed reading my daily makeup routine. I didn’t realize until I wrote this post that I’m able to get through so many steps in such a short amount of time! I really like a natural makeup look and I feel this everyday makeup routine gives me just that! All of these products I recommended are linked and easily accessible. They are affordable yet are high quality which is so important!
